San Diego Comic Con Panel Confirmed

Jodie Whittaker

Doctor Who will continue to make time-travelling waves in the US when it comes to the San Diego Comic-Con this year.

A statement on the BBC America website has revealed that Jodie Whittaker and the cast of the upcoming series will hold a panel ahead of series 11’s premiere, which has been confirmed to air sometime in Autumn 2018.

Whittaker will be making history as the first ever female Doctor, and this will also be the first time this new cast have appeared at the San Diego Comic-Con – or any panel, actually – together.

During the panel, Whittaker will be joined by co-stars Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill, who play Ryan and Yasmin, as well as award-winning series showrunner Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch) and executive producer Matt Strevens (An Adventure In Space And Time).

The panel will be hosted by major Whovian, The Talking Dead presenter and Nerdist founder Chris Hardwick, so get ready for the important questions to be asked.

Like why doesn’t the Doctor fix the TARDIS’s chameleon circuit so that she doesn’t freak out ancient Romans with a 1920s police box? (We imagine.)

Peter Capaldi regenerated into Jodie Whittaker (not in real life) in last year’s Christmas special – and in the short amount of screen-time she had, the first ever female Doctor only got time to say two words: “Oh, brilliant.”
